Miyabina Ann Susanti

Today we went to the courts for a name change hearing for Miya. We had to wait a while for the commissioner to get to name changes. Interesting (if not a little voyeristic) sitting in the court room listening to other people request restraining orders, typically against abusive men, or in one case a woman [...]

The Bondage Song

We went to the Marquee Theatre in Tempe to see London after Midnight, Bithday Massacre and Mindless Self Indulgence and had a great time! Drinks were painfully expensive but that’s to be expected I suppose. Atmosphere was excellent with a great crowd, you could spend a whole day just people watching and I suppose that’s [...]

Hatched and then gone :(

It looks like someone came and emptied the nest. No trace of chick, eggs, feathers, nothing.

100 Degrees and Climbing…

It’s hot here. Way way to hot. I’m told that in the summer it gets over 126F (52C).
It did rain here a couple of days ago for about 15mins, the rain smells funny and afterwards everything is coated with a fine dust. It didn’t last long though, the sun was out and not long later [...]

Happy Birthday Baby!!!

I love you more than I can say, my love, my life, my pet, my everything. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
The folks at the TGL organised a suprise party, you can see my pic’s on flickr here, and Caitlyn’s here.
Jim and Sarah came over and we all went out for a family meal to Three Margaritas, miya had [...]

Diary of my Dreams

I’ve been toying with the idea of writing my dreams down for years, just another one of those things that come bedtime I’ve forgotten about, no biggie, I don’t remember my dreams anyway, never have.
Now my dreams stick with me for days and I can’t shake them. Fears, uncertainty and memories mingle exposing the fragility [...]

Trip to Flagstaff

We took a trip up to Flagstaff yesterday to test the car as much as anything else. It’s amazing how the climate alters within only a couple of hours from Phoenix! Flagstaff was freezing cold with puddles of water from recent rainfall, lots of green and trees and a rather nice mall.
We thought about going [...]

The Great British Pizza Robbery

DON’T BUY TAKE OUT PIZZA IN THE UK - YOU’RE BEING ROBBED BLIND.
When we were in the UK we would occasionally get a take out pizza from Domino’s or Perfect Pizza and very nice they were too. Its only now I’m in the US that it’s become painfully apparent that I was being ripped off, [...]

Home Sweet Phoenix

We arrived very smoothly at Phoenix airport and were very quickly off the plane and meeting up with miya’s sister and brother in law who had kindly come to pick us up. Nipped out for a quick smoke while we waited for our baggage to come down and went from feeling ok to drained [...]

Garcia to Phoenix

Landing in Atlanta was bouncy on the way in, but there is nothing like the feeling when the plane stops on solid ground. The plane is running late but we have a few hours before our connecting flight.
The next two hours were probably the worst of my life. Because of the length of my visit [...]
